Did you know that female peacocks actually have brown and white feathers?
All of those pictures you see on the internet of peacocks are most likely to be male. Male peacocks have a stunning royal blue body, with a beautiful array of green, gold, and brown tail feathers.
Female peacocks on the other hand, have very light, dull shades of brown and white, while their necks are covered in shimmering green feathers. The reason why the males are so colorful is because like most bird species, the color helps attract females for mating purposes.
